    Disr

    Name: Disr

Description: Named for a mythological, flying guardian of the dead, Disr is Surt’s first “mountainous” village, built on the side of a mountain locally called “Pegasus Back”. Significant architectural effort has been put in to provide a stable foundation for the village’s buildings, as well as the main thoroughfare that connects to the main Surtian road, which connects to ground level through a series of switchbacks arcing around the mountain’s foot. Most of the buildings are built from the mountain’s granite. Some are even carved directly into the mountain itself.

    Settlement Aspects:

    1. Aegis: A heavy front gatehouse, guarding the roadway leading from the village to the foot of the Pegasus Back. Combined with careful clearing of the rest of the mountainside, and the short wall running along the plateau’s edge, it forms the village’s central point of defense, as well as its primary watchtower.
